God is Life
Key verse: 1 John 5:11-12
“And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
1. Life Equals Love in Action
1 John 4:19-21 19 We love because he first loved us. 20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot[a] love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
2. Life Equals No Fear
1 John 5:4 “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”
* The world operates in fear, but the people of God live in faith.
3. Life Equals Victory in Jesus
1 John 5:11-12 “And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
* Eternal life isn’t just about heaven—it’s about being alive in Christ today.
